To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, with reference to the press release published on 6 September 2026 titled Jonathan Powell appointed as Special Envoy for BIOT negotiations, on what date was Jonathan Powell a) appointed and b) commenced his role as the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the British Indian Ocean Territory.
