Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what recent assessment he has made of the patient safety implications of using ambulance technicians instead of ambulance paramedics; and if he will make a statement.

No such assessment has been made. National Health Service ambulance trusts are responsible for assigning appropriate responses to 999 calls, including which clinical staff are deployed.
