Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what assessment he has made of the number of (a) ambulance technicians and (b) ambulance emergency care assistants working in the National Health Service; and what plans he has to register ambulance technicians and ambulance emergency care assistants.

No such assessment has been made.

There are no plans to extend regulation to ambulance technicians or ambulance emergency care assistants at this time. However, the Government is currently consulting on proposals for the reform of professional regulation.
