The Government is committed to increasing the National Health Service budget to ensure that patients can get the care they need in a financially sustainable system. The new funding announced in the Autumn Budget 2017 provides real terms growth per head for the NHS between 2017-18 to 2020-21. The profile of growth is front loaded with significant growth above real terms per head in 2017-18 (1.1%) and 2018-19 (0.7%). In 2019-20 and 2020-21 growth is maintained at the rate of real terms growth per head.
