Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what recent assessment his Department has made of trends in the safety of helicopter transport in the offshore oil and gas sector.

The safety of those who travel on offshore helicopter flights is paramount. In 2013 the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) launched a comprehensive review of offshore helicopter flying, resulting in a step change in safety that was welcomed by everyone involved.
