Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, pursuant to the oral contribution of the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, of 7 November 2017, Official Report, column 1323, what plans he has to discuss the treatment by Royal Bank of Scotland of its small and medium-sized enterprises customers with the Chief Executive of that bank.
The Financial Conduct Authority is reviewing the treatment by Royal Bank of Scotland of small and medium-sized enterprise customers referred to the bank’s Global Restructuring Group. The Financial Conduct Authority is the regulator responsible for the conduct supervision of all regulated financial firms and is best-placed to investigate these matters.
