The NHS Long Term Plan committed to ensure that at least 66,000 women with moderate to severe or complex perinatal mental health needs have access to specialist community care by 2023/24 and to establish maternal mental health services. Specialist community perinatal mental health services are now available throughout England. The deployment of maternal mental health services has continued and we aim for these services to be available across England by March 2024.
