Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how much has been spent from the public purse on legal aid for asylum seekers in each of the last five years.

The Ministry of Justice cannot separately report on legal aid specifically awarded to asylum seekers. This information is not recorded, as it is not directly relevant to the administration of the legal aid scheme.
