Planning Permission: Prosecutions

Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what information his Department holds on the number of prosecutions that have been brought for unacceptable breach of planning control in the last 12 months.

The number of defendants proceeded against at magistrates’ courts in 2016 for enforcement offences (for which information is held centrally) under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990, can be viewed in the table attached. This information is held by the Ministry of Justice.
