COVID-19 cases in England are defined as the number of people with at least one laboratory-confirmed positive COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test result.

People who test positive for COVID-19 antibodies are not included in the case count for England, unless they have previously received a positive PCR COVID-19 test result.
