The industry continue to build on their successful anti-trespass campaign “You vs Train”, and collaborate to prevent fatalities on the network. Through the Trespass Improvement Programme (TIP), the industry is also looking at implementing physical measures to prevent access to the network, which they are supplementing with technological improvements designed to deter trespass.

Projects under development include platform end and edge improvements, such as AI cameras and off-grid CCTV that help detect trespassers faster, Virtual Reality videos and mental health campaigns to encourage behavioural change, and a new partnership between the industry and the Scouts Association, covering Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. We are taking active steps to support existing industry projects, and continue to participate in industry-wide trespass prevention initiatives.
