Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what plans he has to bring forward legislative proposals to ensure the delivery of (a) utilities, (b) communications, (c) transport and (d) energy infrastructure in the event of foreign ownership of such infrastructure.

The Government will shortly bring forward proposals to ensure that foreign ownership of companies controlling important infrastructure does not undermine British security or essential services. These proposals will consolidate and strengthen Government’s powers to protect national security.
