Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what plans the Government has to bring forward legislative proposals to allow (a) digital and (b) physical documents to be accepted under the terms of the Licensing Act 2003, in line with proof of settled status.

The Government recognises that there needs to be an agreement on what constitutes an acceptable form of digital ID for age verification purposes. We will continue to engage across Government and with companies working to develop digital age-verification so that an appropriate framework can be developed and tested.
