The Future Homes and Buildings Standards, when implemented from 2025, will ensure the installation of low carbon technologies such as heat pumps in all new residential and commercial properties. Subject to further technical consultation in 2023, the Government assesses that these new standards will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions from buildings, whilst avoiding the need for further costly retrofitting work.
