Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, with reference to the letter to him from the hon. Member for East Ham, dated 16 December 2021, what assessment he has made of whether the Building Safety Fund will cover the removal of tiling in order to access flammable insulation in buildings managed by Gallions Approach Management Ltd (GAML) in the Royal Docks area of Newham.

As set out in the Building Safety Fund prospectus, government funding covers all works directly related to the removal and replacement of unsafe cladding systems. This includes works required to access eligible materials for removal and replacement. In this case, it was found that these terracotta cladding systems do not have combustible insulation.
