While no formal assessment has been made, NHS England and NHS Improvement are monitoring provision to ensure patients’ needs are met. NHS England and NHS Improvement have invested £224 million to support the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of people with post-COVID-19 syndrome, including £90 million for services in 2022/23. As more evidence emerges, the Department of Health and Social Care will continue to work with the Department for Work and Pensions to consider the Government’s provisions and approach for those experiencing the long term effects of the virus.
