Hold a referendum to decide if the UK should leave the ECHR. - 16,416 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 16,822 - 6 added in the past 24hrs)

We ask the government to arrange a public referendum on the UK’s membership in the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). This referendum could allow UK citizens to determine if we should continue adhering to the ECHR or establish independent human rights standards.

The Government responsed to this petition on 27th January 2025 (View Full Response)
This Government is fully committed to the ECHR and does not propose to support the holding of a referendum on UK membership.
Open Petition since 1st April 2025

Recognise the production and serving of cask ale as Intangible Cultural Heritage - 4,038 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 16,345 - 1,928 added in the past 24hrs)

Following the UK’s ratification of UNESCO's Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, we call on the Government to recognise production and serving of traditional British cask ale as Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Open Petition since 24th December 2024

Change the law, so that UK citizens can force an immediate General Election - 10,812 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 16,051 - 65 added in the past 24hrs)

A vote of no confidence in the Government can only be called by parliament. We believe this leaves majority governments in an almost untouchable position. We think governments can break promises or make decisions that are destructive and the electorate can do nothing until the next election.

Open Petition since 14th January 2025

Prohibit publishers irrevocably disabling video games they have already sold - 14,449 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 15,958 - 15 added in the past 24hrs)

The government should update consumer law to prohibit publishers from disabling video games (and related game assets / features) they have already sold without recourse for customers to retain or repair them. We seek this as a statutory consumer right.

The Government responsed to this petition on 3rd February 2025 (View Full Response)
There are no plans to amend UK consumer law on disabling video games. Those selling games must comply with existing requirements in consumer law and we will continue to monitor this issue.
Open Petition since 9th January 2025

Do not stop transgender people from receiving care in mainstream hospital wards - 14,775 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 15,635 - 9 added in the past 24hrs)

The previous government proposed changes to the NHS constitution which would mean transgender hospital patients in England may not be treated in female- and male-only wards. We believe that this segregation is discriminatory, dangerous, and violates the Equality Act 2010 and it must not go ahead.

The Government responsed to this petition on 11th February 2025 (View Full Response)
Following the General Election last year, the Government is considering next steps for the 10-year review of the NHS Constitution. An update to Parliament will be made in due course.
Open Petition since 19th November 2024

Ban animal testing for human products and medicines - 14,492 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 15,531 - 32 added in the past 24hrs)

We demand that the Government bans the use of animal testing/experiments for human medicines and products. This means that animal testing could not be used for new drugs, and other scientific methods would need to be used. We believe modern science can replace animal experiments.

The Government responsed to this petition on 10th February 2025 (View Full Response)
The government does not agree to the proposed ban. The UK still requires data from animal testing to ensure the safety of medicines and products before testing in humans.
Open Petition since 6th November 2024

Hold a referendum on re-joining the European Union - 12,643 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 15,210 - 371 added in the past 24hrs)

I want the government to hold a referendum on whether the UK should Rejoin the European Union.

Open Petition since 15th November 2024

Require all businesses and public services to accept cash payments - 14,830 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 15,114 - 7 added in the past 24hrs)

We would like the Government to pass a law that requires the right to pay for goods and services with cash. This could include a legal framework that includes penalties for outlets that refuse cash payment and mandates the maintenance of local cash handling infrastructure by the banking sector.

The Government responsed to this petition on 19th December 2024 (View Full Response)
It is for individual organisations to decide whether to accept cash as a form of payment. However, existing regulation protects access to cash and supports the ability of organisations to accept cash.
Open Petition since 12th December 2024

An independent evaluation of the Cass review on child gender services - 14,610 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 14,786 - 4 added in the past 24hrs)

We believe that trans healthcare should be based on unbiased research that is peer reviewed. We think that the Cass review's findings have led to restrictive practices that are being directly felt by transgender children.

The Government responsed to this petition on 14th January 2025 (View Full Response)
The Government and NHS England are fully committed to implementing all recommendations from the independent and evidence based Cass Review. We do not support an independent evaluation of the Review.
Open Petition since 17th February 2025

Grant automatic visa extension and ILR for Ukrainians after 5 years - 13,208 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 14,554 - 10 added in the past 24hrs)

Since Feb 2025, Ukrainians and their eligible family members in the UK have been able to apply for further permission to remain for up to 18 months. We would like the extensions to be automatic and for the Government to set out a path to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) for Ukrainians.

The Government responsed to this petition on 12th March 2025 (View Full Response)
We recognise the Ukrainian government’s desire for the return of their citizens to help rebuild Ukraine when it is safe to do so. This is why the temporary Ukraine schemes do not lead to settlement.
