Student paramedics undertake years of demanding academic study and extensive clinical placements to qualify for a vital healthcare profession. Yet many are approaching graduation facing limited vacancies and uncertainty about employment. We believe workforce planning should better align training places with available roles, and newly qualified paramedics should receive the same opportunity for a supported transition into NHS employment as other healthcare graduates.
