Scrap Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax and remove £200 fine

The Government should scrap the new Making Tax Digital (MTD) scheme for Income Tax and revert to the previous system where Self Employed People handed in accounts once a Year. We also call on the Government to drop the £200 fines for late submissions and requirement to upload information online.

We think that the concept of putting personal information and confidential business information online is wrong, and that this information should be confidential. We simply call for Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax to be dropped and for a return to the Self Employment Tax system that we think has worked well for many years.
