Reduce child maintenance, exclude overtime & introduce no contact, no payment

We want the government to review and reduce child maintenance rates, stop including overtime in calculations, and halt payments when contact is denied or contact does not exist, especially if there is a new parental figure.

We feel that these policies are unfair, often leaving non-custodial parents financially unstable. We think they fail to consider full circumstances, such as overtime or lack of contact. For many, it is a source of deep humiliation and alienation when a new parental figure is in place and contact is denied. A fairer system is needed to ensure both children’s well-being and the financial and emotional stability of non-custodial parents who are making a real effort.
