Require all employers to include parental leave policies in job listings

Require all employers to include parental leave policies clearly in job listings. Some studies show only a small percentage currently do so. Making it a legal requirement could help ensure fair access to information. We believe without it, discrimination, unfair withdrawal of offers could result.

We think lack of upfront policy disclosure can create uncertainty and discrimination. One study showed that 1 in 5 people left their jobs after parental leave to manage childcare needs. We believe requiring published policies could help close the gender pay gap, promote fairness, and empower people to make informed decisions about employment. We believe all candidates should be given fair and transparent information—clearly and in writing—before deciding if a job is right for them.
