Give all parents the legal right to participate in their child’s funeral

I want Parliament to pass a law to give both parents the right to attend their child’s funeral unless legally prevented, and for Government to provide statutory guidance to funeral directors to protect these rights.

Losing a child is the most painful experience a parent can face. Yet currently, one parent can be completely excluded from funeral arrangements with no legal reason. I want the Government to ensure both biological parents must be informed, allowed to attend, and treated fairly by funeral directors, unless a legal, safeguarding, or criminal reason prevents it. Every parent deserves the right to say goodbye.
