A victim’s suicide can be a desperate escape from unbearable abuse. When the victim is also a parent, the children left behind may face further harm if the abuser keeps or gains custody. We believe that this puts vulnerable children at risk and denies them safety and stability.
We need a change to:
Protect children from ongoing abuse
Hold abusers fully accountable
Help families heal and break the cycle of abuse
Victims and their children deserve justice, safety, and a chance to rebuild without fear
