Ensure statutory guidance under the Equality Act is debated in Parliament

The EHRC has submitted a new statutory code of practice which will cover single sex spaces to the Minister for Women & Equalities. Unless challenged, the process does not require debate in the House. This petition is to ensure that such statutory guidelines are required to be debated in Parliament.

We think the current procedure which requires no debate for this statutory guidance is not appropriate. We believe the guidance will lead to the denial and breach of human rights, and increased harm to a specific community.
EHRC guidance to date could exclude some people from both male AND female services in some cases. We think this is clearly wrong.
