Require autism-friendly interview adjustments and sensory-friendly jobs

Require all Disability Confident employers to guarantee specific reasonable adjustments for neurodivergent candidates—such as remote interviews, autism-aware interviewers, advance questions, clear one-at-a-time queries, and rest breaks—and to create autism- and sensory-friendly roles and workplaces.

Neurodivergent people and those with sensory sensitivities can face significant barriers and gatekeeping in recruitment, especially at interviews, due to what we believe to be an inconsistent application of reasonable adjustments and biased decision-making. This can limit fair access to jobs. We think the Disability Confident Scheme should be fully inclusive, ensuring fair interview assessment and access for neurodivergent candidates while encouraging employers to create supportive work environments (remote/hybrid/part-time/predictable).
