This should include all compounds that contain metal such as Calcium Carbonate. Many foods, drinks and supplements contain Calcium Carbonate, which is 40 percent Calcium. Calcium Carbonate is added by law to all non-wholemeal wheat flour milled and sold in the UK.

There is no current legislation requiring manufacturers to specify exactly how much metal is in products we eat and drink.

People could be consuming well over the RDA for each metal without realising.

Some studies show that too much Calcium and other metals can cause digestive, neurological, cardiovascular, reproductive and other issues.
