Fund additional head circumference checks for newborn babies

My full term baby (39 weeks) had a IVH (intra-ventricle haemorrhage). For the first week of her life, we thought she was a normal newborn. If her head circumference had been checked earlier, we could have found out sooner about her bleed and got her treatment earlier.

I would like the Government to provide funding for additional checks to measure the head circumference of newborns, by midwives and healthcare providers. We think the fact this is in the "red book" we get for our babies shows how important it is. We think it could save lives that could otherwise be lost or severely damaged. Detecting a brain injury sooner could change families forever.
