I request that the Government amend how housing costs are paid for benefit claimants in private rented accommodation, to reflect the increased costs of renting, and impact this can have on claimants.

Many people have no choice but to rent housing at extortionate prices which are not fully met through benefit payments. This can lead to substantial shortfalls that must be found before buying food, gas and electricity. This can result in evictions and homelessness. How can this Government in such a rich country allow this to go on. Rather than supporting war torn countries we believe the Government should focus on looking after their own.
