Change Universal Credit rules for farmers

We want the Government to support one of its most needed industries by changing the UC rules for farmers. We would like farmers to have to report income yearly instead of monthly. We also want to abandon the Minimum Income Floor permanently for farmers previously claiming legacy benefits.

We want the Government to support the farmers, the backbone of the country. We believe the current system is not fit for purpose. We think it is flawed and benefits the Government and not those that genuinely require help and income support.

Farming is not a monthly business, it’s barely yearly! You might sow in one financial year and harvest it in the next. We believe farming is not typical self-employment, your profit/income may not be determined on your hours or endless hard work but on uncontrollable factors.
