Increase Statutory Maternity Pay to 9 months at full pay

We want the Government to increase the rate of Statutory Maternity Pay to 9 months at full pay. When on maternity leave, my rent and bills don’t change, and food costs and essentials don't change, so pay for mothers shouldn't change either.

Women grow a child for 9 months to bring them safely into this world. Many mothers have financial worries when on maternity leave, and often have no choice but to go back to work early for financial reasons, and then have to deal with the cost of childcare.

My rent is £700 a month, which is almost as much as the current rate of Statutory Maternity Pay. We are in a cost of living crisis!
