Hold a referendum on allowing firearms for personal/home protection

We demand a referendum as to whether or not people should be allowed to own a firearm, after gaining a licence to prove they are fit, to use it for home and personal protection. I think our police force is ineffective and that allowing people to defend themselves will help to offset this.

I think the people of this country should be allowed to decide on whether or not private citizens should have the right to bear arms. I think this would help to reduce violence on our streets as it would act as a deterrent to those who commit these crimes.
