Decisions about who whether someone with a disability receives a Blue Badge are made by local councils, making successful applications somewhat of a lottery for people with disabilities.

Parkinson's, especially Young Onset Parkinson's Disease (YOPD), affects many people of a working age. Access to a Blue Badge would help make getting to work easier for people living with YOPD, for whom the unpredictable manner of it's symptoms can make travel a very challenging aspect of maintaining a working lifestyle.
