The PM and members of Cabinet should be required to publish their tax returns

Parliament should introduce legislation that would require the Prime Minister and all members of the Cabinet to publish their tax returns annually. Such a law would go a long way in restoring trust in our politicians and in politics more widely.

The Prime Minister himself said before Christmas 2022 that he would be publishing his tax return but, at the time of writing, still hasn’t done so. A law requiring the Prime Minister and all members of Cabinet to publish their tax returns annually would mean that we would not have to rely on individual promises.
