Disease-related death is very common, leaving some parents with unanswered questions because they can't access their deceased child’s medical records. ONS have recorded that in the year ending March 2020, female victims were more commonly killed by a partner, ex-partner or a family member. BBC reported that 173 people were killed in domestic violence-related homicides. In cases where the deceased's next of kin is not the parent, the parent is denied access to medical records.
