Make parental alienation a criminal offence

We want the Government to make parental alienation a criminal offence, so that the police and the courts are empowered to take action when one parent seeks to turn a child against the other parent. Parental alienation is too common, and currently the police and courts seem powerless to tackle it.

By making parental alienation a criminal offence, police would be able to investigate alleged cases of parental alienation, and take action to prevent this. Parents guilty of parental alienation could also be prosecuted in the courts, which could also provide evidence for future family proceedings. This should help protect children and their relationships with their parents.
