The UK Government should announce an immigration amnesty for all Afghans living in the UK, granting them rights to reside, given the rapid changes in the security situation in Afghanistan with the power transfer of the entire country to the Taliban regime.

We believe returning Afghans now would constitute a grave violation of Human Rights laws and be in breach of the Refugee Convention. An amnesty therefore should be granted.
