The Government should fund works on the M66 to ensure the safety of motorists isn’t put at risk during times of high rain and flooding. This could help ensure proper drainage and the removal of potholes.

Improving and maintaining the motorway better could help save lives as there have been incidents relating to poor weather on the M66 in recent years.

There seems to be little to no drainage on the motorway, so water builds up and sits on the surface. There are potholes, and general maintenance seems to have been neglected. The road is seriously unsafe – lives have been lost.
