There are millions of hungry in the UK, the 6th richest nation in the World. All our major supermarkets throw away (waste) food once it is past its Sell-by-Date. As France did in 2016 a law requiring supermarkets to donate unsold food on sell by date would be the single most important step to eliminate hunger in the UK. The Charities distributing the food would be required to fulfil Health and Safety criteria to ensure safety.
