Vaccine companies are currently unable to produce enough vaccines to meet the worldwide demands of the vaccine against Coronavirus. Given the price companies are selling the vaccine for, this means poorer countries are going to have far less access to the vaccine compared to richer countries like the UK. This move would mean that production rates of vaccines would be able to increase hugely giving freer access to the vaccine to less rich countries.
