Most councils do not microchip check deceased pets found on the road side. It should be made compulsory for any cats and dogs reported or found to be chip checked in order to notify the owners.

If you care for and love an animal and they go missing you want to know what has happened to them. Deceased or injured, there a many that will take to the vets and the vets will notify the owners but if they have passed on the roadside most councils do not have that compassion and will dispose in the general rubbish or incinerate them and the owners are none the wiser.
