Re-open outdoor table tennis tables and basketball courts in parks.

We would like parliament to remove fencing around outdoor table tennis tables and reopen outdoor basketball courts. These facilities are not at the epicentre of Covid-19 transmission.

This petition was rejected on 1st Dec 2020 as the proposed action is already occurring

The Petition Committee commented:
As of 2 December leisure and sporting facilities such as gyms, sports courts and facilities and leisure centres are allowed to reopen: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/local-restriction-tiers-what-you-need-to-know Reopening individual courts and other outdoor facilities is a matter for individual local authorities, not the Government or House of Commons.

Reticulating Splines

The transmission of Covid-19 outdoors is extremely rare. These activities are important for encouraging households to get outside and exercise and for the mental health of those who do not have access to private facilities.
