stop the closure of food banks and shelters in lockdown

starting thurday, Novermber 5 th the government is closing food banks and shelters as they are listed as ‘non-essential’ . this is a clear violation of human rights, some families rely on food banks to eat especially with business closing and an increase of job loss .

This petition was rejected on 16th Nov 2020 for not petitioning for a specific action

The Petition Committee commented:
The regulations introduced from 5 November include specific exemptions for accommodation for homeless people, and for some venues hosting food banks. See https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november Petitions need to request a clear action for which the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible. We understand you're concerned about access to homeless shelters and food banks, but it's not clear what further action you want the Government to take.

. as well as that shelters are closing for the homeless , what is “non essential” about human beings having a safe place to live especially with winter coming and it getting colder and colder. re opening of them will not increase the spread of covid . how can the government justify the closing of food banks and shelters but keeping schools open in a global pandemic when it means 1000s of students (possible carriers of the virus) mixing.
