Increase Gift Aid for all charities to 50% for the 2020/21 tax year

Many charities have seen a drop in donations during the coronavirus crisis and some may have to close. If the government increases gift aid from 25% to 50% for the current tax year it will help all charities and should encourage more donations.

Donations to charities are down significantly with the closure of charity shops and the cancellation of fundraising events. An increase in gift aid would be easy to implement with minimal cost and will reach all charities who use the scheme.
