Some people currently performing beauty and hair treatments might have only done a one-day training course, or had no training at all. The Government should prevent anyone without a relevant qualification – such as an NVQ in beauty therapy – from performing beauty or hair treatments. This would ensure that people purchasing these treatments are receiving them from a trained professional, who knows how to do them safely.
