This would secure increased policing and provide work to special constables who maybe out of work due to the pandemic.

There is likely to be increased absence in the police through sickness and self isolating, support by special constables can ensure the public are kept safe and policing levels remain high.

Currently specials receive allowances of
- Over 4 hours but not exceeding 8 hours: up to £7.23
- Over 8 hours but not exceeding 12 hours: up to £14.66
- Over 12 hours: up to £24.15

The public need the support of their police, this also provides work for specials who maybe be absent due to closed businesses.
