Make the 6 Nations a culturally protected event.

I would ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to ensure that the 6 Nations is protected by law and raised to a Class A event. Ensuring that it can not go behind a paywall.

The Six Nations is a massive cultural event in terms of sport. Reportedly 7million tune in for some matches. Sky's autumn international figures pale in comparison to terrestrial 6 Nations.

I realise that Rugby Union is not as popular as football or the Olympics however it does have a solid support base throughout the UK.

The 6 Nations is the only rugby some people watch and works as an avenue to promote and expand the sport. It's such an important event for achieving this.
