Bring the pay scales of Crime Scene Investigators in line with police officers.

Crime Scene Investigators working for the Police in the UK have an average starting salary of £17,000 and reach on average £28,000. Compared to the starting salary of a police officer being £20,000 and rising to £38,000.

I would like to see a dignified pay increase for all CSIs within the UK.

There is more to a CSI than collecting evidence and with ISO 17020 accreditation taking place throughout all UK forces, the role of a CSI is that of a professional and skilled one.

CSIs investigate all crime types from burglaries to murders, spending hours working in unpleasant and dangerous conditions.

Due to cuts, CSIs can often be the first responders to volume crime. This means CSIs with no safety equipment or training are the first to dangerous and vulnerable scenes.
