Our people are growing up with a complete lack or misunderstanding of disability and mental health and therefore creating a vicious cycle of stigma and negativity.

I believe we should tackle this problem at the source to prevent our people from growing up around stigma against these issues to then bring up their children in the same manner. I came across a hand written letter from a girl who was extremely upset that her younger brother- who has autism was being bullied for being "weird". Children need to learn to accept and understand differences in others and I believe education will do this.
