Reasonable force? Allow families to protect lives in their homes from criminals

According to the Criminal Law Act 1967, members of the UK are only allowed to use “reasonable force” to defend themselves which is dictated by a jury. I believe any force should be deemed legal if there is any possible threat that lives are at risk in a families/persons own home and security.

There are many examples in today’s world that we see on the news where individuals have tried to defend themselves rightfully and end up being prosecuted and imprisoned for literal self defence on their own turf. I believe that the government should reconsider the laws of self defence on someone’s own property, as the threat of an individual breaking in is unknown (armed or unarmed?).
