Olympic medallist should win a Cash Prize for medals won at an Olympic Game.

The International Olympic Committee doesn't give prize money, but many countries reward their medalists with a bonus. U.S. Olympians, for example, earned $37,500 for each gold medal won, $22,500 for each silver and $15,000 for each bronze. In team sports, each team member splits the pot evenly.

A change needs to be made for our athletes in Great Britain, this is one of the largest sporting events televised all over the world with big sponsers, if footballers and tennis players can benefit from finacially gain then It should be the same across the board. This in turn will encourage more young athletes to involved in athletics as a career with prospects. We should not want our athletes leaving the sport because of the lack of financial aid, we as a nation should be doing better.
